Plan for the journey
Allow extra travel time, check weather and traffic before leaving, and avoid driving unfamiliar roads after dark in heavy rain.
Pack for wet days
- Rain jacket or umbrella
- Footwear with grip that can get wet
- Quick-dry clothes and spares
- Waterproof pouch for phones
Respect water
Streams and waterfalls can rise quickly after heavy rain. Admire them from safe spots, follow local advice and never enter fast-moving water.
Monsoon at Askara
From the farm you can see waterfalls running down the facing hills in the monsoon. When the rain arrives, guests dance in it. Covered dining and the gazebo keep the day comfortable between showers.
